Admission Requirements
• Students placed in the Psychology Bachelor's program by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM) are admitted in accordance with the relevant legislation and the examination results determined by the University. General registration procedures at Istanbul Commerce University are carried out by the university, while academic registration procedures are carried out by the dean's office. Information regarding the relevant regulations can be found on the Istanbul Commerce University website (https://ticaret.edu.tr/yonetmelikler/).

The evaluation of courses taken and credits earned in other programs and/or institutions through horizontal and vertical transfers, double major, and minor programs is conducted by the department's equivalency committee.
• The language of instruction for the Psychology department is 30% English-supported. Students who are newly enrolled in the university or who apply for horizontal transfer are subject to level determination and education procedures in accordance with the Istanbul Commerce University Foreign Language Preparation Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation (see https://www.mevzuat.gov.tr/mevzuat?MevzuatNo=21418&MevzuatTur=8&MevzuatTertip=5 ).
Students are required to take a foreign language proficiency exam prepared by the unit responsible for foreign language preparatory education to determine their level of proficiency in languages other than Turkish, which they will be taught in. Students who are found to have sufficient foreign language proficiency at the end of this exam are enrolled in the associate or bachelor's degree program they have been placed in. Students who do not pass the proficiency exam continue in the foreign language preparatory program. The relevant regulations apply to these students. Students enrolled in Turkish-language programs must document that their foreign language proficiency is sufficient to take courses in programs where the language of instruction is a foreign language, in accordance with the relevant legislation. Students who will receive Turkish-language education may take the foreign language proficiency-level determination exam. Those who pass the exam are exempt from the foreign language courses deemed mandatory by the Higher Education Council.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates of this program can apply to master's and doctoral programs in related fields in Türkiye and abroad.
Graduation Requirements
Requirements for graduation are at least 240 ECTS credits in the undergraduate program, including compulsory courses and internships determined by YÖK, and completion of 2 compulsory internships specified in the curriculum. Students who successfully complete all courses and fulfill the required credit load with a minimum GPA of 2.00 are eligible to receive a faculty undergraduate diploma according to the program they are enrolled in. Final-year students who have successfully completed all required courses for graduation but have not achieved a 2.00 GPA may take average-raising exams for the courses of their choice.
Students who complete their studies in eight semesters at the undergraduate level and four semesters at the associate degree level without receiving disciplinary penalties or grades of F, NP, or IA, and who have a GPA of 3.75 or higher and rank in the top 5% are awarded diplomas and certificates of high honor. Students with a GPA of 3.25 or higher who rank in the top 15% will receive an honor certificate. The percentage thresholds for the high honors and honor certificates are evaluated on a faculty basis.
Students who transfer from another higher education institution through vertical or horizontal transfer must meet the conditions specified in the third paragraph in addition to the following requirements to be eligible for an honor or high honors certificate: they must have successfully completed the preparatory program in undergraduate and associate degree programs where a preparatory program is mandatory, they must have taken at least 120 ECTS credits in undergraduate programs and at least 60 ECTS credits in associate degree programs at the University, and their overall grade point average must be in accordance with the second paragraph.
A dual major student who successfully completes all required courses in their majors and has their thesis or theses accepted, if applicable, is eligible to receive separate bachelor's degrees in both majors; however, to graduate from the second major, the student must have a GPA of 70 out of 100 (2.72 out of 4) in the first major.
A double major student who is in their final year and has successfully completed all required courses in their second major but has not fulfilled their obligations in their first major is also entitled to receive their second major diploma upon completing their first major.
The maximum duration of study for students who have earned the right to graduate from the first major diploma program but have not completed the second major diploma program is the maximum duration specified in Article 44(c) of Law No. 2547, starting from the academic year in which they enrolled in the second major diploma program.
Students who do not take courses in the dual major program for two consecutive semesters will be removed from the dual major diploma program.
Students who have lost their right to pursue a second major will be considered to have completed a minor program, provided they fulfill the requirements by the graduation date of their first major. Courses taken by students enrolled in the second major program of the double major program and accepted as equivalent are shown on the transcript.
The Senate determines how courses taken by students removed from the double major program in the second major program will be evaluated. Courses successfully completed in the second major program that are not accepted in the student's major program are included in the transcript and diploma supplement without being included in the overall grade point average.

A student's grade in a course is determined by evaluating their midterm exams and/or midterm assignments and their final or make-up exam grades. The weight of each midterm exam and/or midterm assignment and final exam cannot be less than 40% or more than 60%. To pass, the midterm exam grade must be at least as high as the minimum passing grade specified in Article 32.
2. The principles regarding the overall grade point average are specified below:
a. Overall grade point average (GPA);
• At the end of the first year; 1.50-1.99,
• At the end of the second year; 1.70-1.99,
• At the end of the third year; 1.80-1.99,
Students can move up to the next grade conditionally and are placed on the monitoring list until the end of the semester when their GPA reaches 2.00 or above. The credit load for courses taken by students on the monitoring list in the semester they conditionally passed may be a maximum of 18 ECTS. However, these students may take courses they previously failed, conditionally passed, and/or met the prerequisites for.
Students whose GPA is below 1.50 at the end of the first year, 1.70 at the end of the second year, or 1.80 at the end of the third year cannot take courses from the next higher grade; they can only take courses from the grade below to raise their GPA.

A letter grading system is used to indicate students' level of success in courses.
