History
The Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Commerce University was established under the Faculty of Engineering in 2001. The department adopts an educational model that combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications through strong collaboration with the industry.
Since its foundation, the department has aimed to educate engineers capable of designing, analyzing, and optimizing industrial systems in line with contemporary needs. Its curriculum is continuously updated to include modern engineering topics such as Industry 4.0, digital transformation, sustainable production, and data analytics.

Admission Requirements
|
To enroll in undergraduate programs, candidates must pass the exam conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and must not be registered in another formal higher education program. For students to be admitted from abroad, the provisions stated in the Directive on Application and Admission of International Students apply. For undergraduate programs with at least 30% of instruction in English, exemption from the foreign language proficiency exam and the exams and scores accepted for exemption are determined in accordance with the “Regulation on Foreign Language Teaching and Teaching in a Foreign Language in Higher Education Institutions” published in the Official Gazette dated December 4, 2008 and numbered 27074, and the “Istanbul Commerce University Foreign Language Preparatory Program Education, Teaching and Examination Regulation” published in the Official Gazette dated June 26, 2011 and numbered 27976.

Graduates who successfully complete the undergraduate program may apply to graduate (master’s and doctoral) programs provided that they meet the admission requirements.

Graduation Requirements
|
For graduation, it is necessary to be successful in the courses defined in the Industrial Engineering curriculum with a total value of at least 240 ECTS, to successfully complete two summer internships and to have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Industrial Engineering graduates work in roles such as Production Planner, Production Systems Specialist, Designer and Evaluator of organizations in the service sector, Statistical Analysis Specialist, Operations Research Specialist, Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Quality Manager, Decision Maker, and Facility Planner.

Assessment and Grading
|
The minimum credit requirement for graduation, including compulsory courses and internships determined by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), is at least 120 ECTS credits for associate degree programs and at least 240 ECTS credits for undergraduate programs. Students who successfully complete all courses and fulfill the required credit load with a minimum GPA of 2.00 are entitled to receive a faculty undergraduate diploma, a school undergraduate diploma, or a vocational school associate degree diploma, depending on the program they are enrolled in. Final-year students who have passed all required courses but have not achieved a GPA of 2.00 may take grade improvement exams for the courses of their choice.
